EASY BLIND MEASURING GUIDE

BLIND MEASURING GUIDEBefore you start:There are 2 ways of fitting your blind: inside or outside the window recess.

You will need:Pen or pencilPaperMetal tape measure (cloth or plastic tape measures can stretch)We recommend you use centimetres.

FITTING OUTSIDE THE RECESS:1. measure the width of the area that you want your blind to cover in centimetres- We recommend you have a 5cm overlap either side (whenever possible)2. measure the drop of the area that you want your blind to cover in centimetresWe recommend the blind is fitted 5cm above the window.You now have your width x drop size for your blind.

FITTING INSIDE THE RECESS:1. measure the width inside the recess wall to wall in 3 places, make a note of the smallest measurement2. measure the drop inside the recess lentil to sill, make a note of the smallest measurementYou now have your width x drop size for your blind.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONSWidth measurements are always quoted followed by drop measurementsEg: 120cm x 160cm is 120cm wide x 160cm drop

You may need to round up to the nearest standard blind size as you can trim most blinds down to exact size. (eg if your measurement is 117cm you would need to round up to a 120cm wide blind)

Roller blind width measurements include the fittings which are at either end. The material on a roller blind is always slightly narrower than the width measurement stated (approximately 1.5cm either side).

Blinds can be lowered to the required length once fitted, therefore the drop size must be a minimum of the drop measurement, but can be longer.

If your window recess less than 7cm deep you may not be able to fit inside the recess

If your window opens inward you may not be able to fit inside the recess as the top of the blind may restrict your window opening

The head rail on Venetian and roman blinds is exact, you do not have to allow for fittings.
