FAKE Golf Clubs - NIKE Sumo Drivers

Hello,

Just a guide really as we are concerned about the number of Fake Nike items appearing on Ebay!! Obviously everybody as a consumer is out for a bargain but some bargains are just too good to be true! Some people may think that a fake item will do the job anyway and looks the same, in the golf industry this is generally not the case. The reason being that the fake manufacturers are not using the correct materials in both the club head and the shaft. This does make a huge difference!!

Now, we will be honest with you. Nike Sumo Drivers for 2007 have a trade price of 140 + VAT. This is for the normal head model. Best terms with Nike will be a 10% line discount along with a settlement discount of a further 3%. We can tell you all of this as we are Approved Nike Stockists. This gives a best possible purchase price of 122.22 + VAT. This could be reduced further on a pre book deal with Nike at the start of a season. The lowest trade price would therefore be around 110 + VAT. This equates to 129.25.

So, how can anybody afford to start a Nike Sumo driver at 59 starting bid???

We understand that people from time to time will liquidate stock and sell items at a loss, just as we do ourselves.

Our advice, always buy from a PGA Golf Professional. Always think about a deal that sounds too good to be true. If you want a price on New or Used Nike equipment please contact us and we would be happy to help.

Blu-ray Region Coding

Blu-ray has 3 different regions, which are different to that of DVDs. While DVDs use region numbering, Blu-rays use region lettering - the letters A, B and C represent the 3 regions of Blu-ray;Region A consists of North American, Central America, South America, East Asia (except for China) and South East Asia.Region B is Europe, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand, and of course, Australia.Region C is for everywhere else, but mainly China, Russian and India. As with DVDs, you can find the region coding information on the back of the movie cover. When a title is Region Free you should see a combination of all 3 regional icons.

Silver Cross 3D Pram System.

I have just had my 4th son this year and I've been a bit of a pushchair collector over the years!! My problem is how hard it is to find a pushchair to suit all my needs: getting around in the car, travelling on public transport, walking, etc. then there's how big/small baby is, not to mention storing it when you're not using it! There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a pushchair/pram, that's why I would really recommend the Silver Cross 3D Pram System. My baby is 5 months old and I've not bought another buggy yet. (I've ususlly had at least 2 or 3 by now!)The 3D Pram System is an easy, umbrella fold pushchair that has the look and sturdy feel of a pushchair in comparison to a stroller but with all the advantages of a stroller.First of all it has the usual lockable swivel wheels, bumper bar, 5 point safety harness, hood (with a zip-off 'skirt'), apron, 2 position leg rest, 4 position back, raincover etc. and also a zip-off head support cushion, 2 position handle height, and a revolutionary 'pram liner' which turns the pushchair into a pram easily and very quickly. It is washable, all you have to do is take the flexible plastic supports and mattress out and throw the liner in the washing machine!! The liner fits over the pushchair seat completely by reclining the seat fully and lifting the fabric liner support (which is under the removable head support) and then putting the liner over the seat and bumper bar, it then velcros into place ready for baby! All you do then is remove the hood and put it on the frame the opposite way round and you are ready to go, it takes minutes. It also has a 'soft wrap' (tm) which is a crotch and waist pad that holds babies in a safe and comfortable position. It even folds as a pram!!When baby is 4 months old or so, you take off the liner and reverse the hood and it's a buggy, simple! It has an additional matching car seat,(ventura/ventura plus) sold seperately, to turn it into a travel system, and an accessory pack that is sold seperately which includes a matching fleece lined cosytoes, which I use as a buggy liner, the top blanket part zips off the liner which is machine washable. (easier than washing the buggy all the time!) A matching changing bag, and a really unusual shaped matching parasol.I love this pushchair and I keep seeing celebrities with the same one! The only down side is that the raincover doesn't fit over the ventura plus carseat, the tray is difficult to get to in pram-mode and it is a little on the heavy side (but it has a carry handle that distributes the weight very well). Other than that, I have had no problems at all, the Silver Cross customer support team were extremely polite and very helpful when I phoned to find stockists for the accessory pack. I would recommend this buggy for anyone that wants a buggy/pram which is going to last the 3 years or so that you need it.

Harbridge Training aid

The Harbridge: can be used on the lunge, or for loose schooling work or for ridden work. Because of the low point of contact from which the device operates it encourages the horse to adopt a long low profile, encouraging a degree of poll flexion while allowing freedom to bend laterally. As there is nothing for the horse to lean on he is encouraged to carry himself and in doing so build up muscles along the Topline making it natural for the horse to always work in a good shape within the capabilities of his conformation. Probably best used on the lunge for the first sessions to initially build a stronger profile before the added weight of a rider. When used in a teaching situation it enables the instructor to demonstrate the feel they wish the client to achieve, without the less experienced rider having to work too hard and therefore compromising their balance and position. The Harbridge is patented and also a registered trade mark and comes in two sizes Pony/Cob and Cob/Full size.

To Fit: adjustable in two places on the actual reins themselves and also under the chest. Thread the girth loop onto the girth of either your saddle or Roller and girth up as normal, then both reins pass between the front legs and the trigger clip at the end of each rein is clipped to each bit ring. As with most schooling devices it should only be clipped into place when in the school or, as you are about to ride off the horse should never be lead to the school with equipment already attached. Any new piece of schooling equipment should be introduced gradually as muscles unaccustomed to working in certain shapes soon tire and the horse will begin to resist and spoil the effect you are trying to create. Always put devices on generously and then shorten later rather than starting too short.

Freesat or Freeview or Freesat Sky

A new player for digital TV has emerged called Freesat, what is it?

Freesat offers a choice of 80 channels from entertainment and childrens to movies, music and radio. Plus you get free HD programmes with a Freesat HD receiver. All for no extra cost.

Freesat is a non subscription service all you need to do is buy a receiver and Installation (not required if you have a Sky Dish).

There are a number of boxes starting at 49.99 up to 150.00 for the HD receiver, plus installation charge for a dish If you dont have one.

Panasonic are to launch in June 08 a HD TV with Freesat built in I understand there will be three screen sizes.

There will also be in the near future a HD Freesat receiver with a built in Hard Drive similar to the Sky plus system.

Freesat from Sky

You may also receive Freesat from Sky, they offer 200 channels, you can make a one off payment for 150.00 and your receive a Dish and receiver and no subscription charge.

If you already have a Sky receiver and dish you can buy a Freesat card from Sky for only 20.00 which gives you the 200 channels.

Sky do not offer Freesat in HD, but you never know that may change.

Freeview

This is the service received with a standard aerial plugged in to a Freeview box which cost as little as 17.00 or If you have a new TV it will probably have a Freeview tuner built in.

Freeview has around 44 channels but that does depend on the area as you can sometimes receive less. The only negative is if you signal is poor the picture will break up or disappear all together.

Spotting Fake Return to Tiffany Jewerly

Type : Silverelegance4u .com into google for great prices on authetic TIFFANY!!! 75% off!! Paypal Accepted! silverelegance4u.com

The links on a Return to Tiffany bracelet or necklace are almost round, and only slightly oval. Also, the links on any tiffany bracelet or necklace are NOT pinched together, they are soldered together and totally smooth. The lobster clasp on a Tiffany bracelet or necklace will show EXCELLENT workmanship, if it looks like it's a cheapie, it's not tiffany (as with most fakes, it it looks cheap then its because its a fake). The lobster clasp will ALSO be stamped 925 at the base. In fact, every Tiffany piece is stamped with the Tiffany logo, and the pieces by artists such as Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Frank Gehry etc, will be signed as well as stamped. When buying a piece that has a chain and pendant BOTH the pendant AND the chain will be marked Tiffany

FAKE ALERT Taylor Made CGB Max Fairway Woods

Yes, OK, I admit it, I fell for one of the fake club scams. So, I want to share my experience with others so they do not fall foul of similar scammers on eBay.

A lot has been said about fake golf clubs in other guides that I read (too late) here, so just a couple of things to pick out from them, and add to myself:-

1 - check ALL feedback from seller to ensure it is recent, as a seller of similar items and not from similar profile IDs (i.e. low feedback or recent setup)

2 - think of why you were drawn to the auction. Normally too good a price to be true? This is normally the case and will prove to be TOO good to be a true (genuine) club.

3 - start a dialogue with the seller, ask for better pictures, check the website of the manufacturer of the club(s) you are buying and see if they have a fraud/fake page to help identify them.

4 - ignore the location the ID is supposed to be selling from and record the times that questions are replied to, very early in the morning would suggest a different timezone (China). This will not always help as some websites/companies (www.hygolfcn.com) are now drop shipping straight from their warehouses. The guy I bought from was supposed to be in Scotland, but his English was terrible and he answered his emails at around 4 in the morning.

5 - Taylor Made fairway woods do NOT come with a wrench.

6 - ALWAYS pay via PayPal or other methods that have some protection associated with them.
I bought a Stiff shafted CGB Max 3 wood which has a shaft like warm toffee.

Suggestions on how can this problem can be eradicated:-

1 - better verification of people's locations before they are allowed to sell

2 - there should be NO private listings, so other people can be identified and warned off buying fakes. A recent batch of fakes has been sold by another ID (could be the same seller) but had private listings so the potential buyers could not be warned.

3 - auctions for fake items are cancelled by eBay once either an ID closed or there is a hint of foul play. Once again, it would be more useful if they were left open so all those people scammed could band together and claim together. I took great care in bookmarking the auctions of the other items sold by this scammer but they are all now withdrawn, so I cannot get in touch with the the buyers.

4 - it would be useful to have a way of flagging up potential fakes to eBay (or other buyers) via an anonymous contact point in eBay.

I am following my claim up with PayPal at the moment, hoping to get a positive result.

Negative comments as a positive

Due to the recent change in how sellers can leave feedback - many sellers feel they need to leave a negative comment as a positive. This short guide is to help you - the buyer - remove these comments.

JELLY ROLL QUILTING

QUILTING WITH A JELLY ROLL?

A what? Sounds messy, doesn't it? Lots of people quilt with Fat Quarters (see my 2 guides on what a fat quarter is and making your first fat quarter quilt) but recently a new cut of fabric has come along - the Jelly Roll.

The fabric firm Moda produced the first ones and now lots of other fabric producers and quilting shops have put together selections of different designs.

A Jelly Roll is a collection of 40 strips of fabric that are 2 1/2 inchescut across the width of the fabric which is usually 44-45 inches. These fabrics are rolled into a fatroll that looks like a slice of swiss roll. They are called jelly rolls because that is what Americans call a swiss roll.

The fabric should not be washed before use (imagine what a frayed mess you would get) and you have to be very careful with seam allowance when sewing. Having said that, what a wonderful excuse to try something new!

You could buy fabrics to cutinto stripsyourself, or use your stash, but it means buying a lot to get the large variety of fabrics that come in one ready to sew roll.

There are a growing number of patterns and books for jelly rolls. I have just bought a book that has some really lovely patterns in it - you might like to try getting 'Jelly Roll Quilts' by Pam

POTTY TRAINING FOR GIRLS - TIPS DO

Potty training is the process of teaching your toddler to recognise the feeling of needing to go to the toilet, and gain control of urine and bowel movements until he can reach a potty or toilet. Children develop at different rates and you should only begin potty training when your child is ready. Before he can be trained, your toddler needs to be able to:

Recognise the signals that mean he needs to go to the toilet and can tell you before it happens.

Hold on for a short time until he gets to the potty or the toilet.

Pull his pants and trousers up or down, though children may need help with difficult clothes for some time.

Most toddlers are not ready to potty train until after the age of two, particularly if they do not have an older sibling to copy. Even after they are trained it's not at all unusual for a four year old to have occasional, or more frequent accidents. If you try training your child before they are two it may mean you have to keep reminding them to use the toilet at intervals during the day. If you leave training a little later until your child is ready the process will be easier and quicker. Getting StartedInvolve your child in buying a potty and perhaps let them choose their potty with you. Leave the potty so your toddler can see it in the bathroom. At around eighteen months introduce your toddler to the potty. Try to let your child watch other children using the potty and let your toddler see you using the toilet. When your child is about two, sit him on the potty from time to time, and give lots of praise if he 'uses' the potty. If your child regularly opens his bowels at about the same time each day, choose this moment to sit him on the potty. It is often a good idea to start potty training in warm weather so your child can run around without pants, or just with a pair of cotton pants. You will need to remind your child regularly to tell you when he needs the potty.Accidents will happen, do not get cross, simply clean up and tell him where the poo or the wee should go next time. Occasionally, let your toddler try the toilet, some children prefer it. You can put a child seat on your toilet and purchase a step up to it to make it easier. However children often want you to hold them on the toilet, even when they are proficient toilet users. Do not expect your child to be able to wipe his own bottom, most children need help with this for some time.Tips for successful potty training

Choose a time to potty train when nothing else significant is happening in your toddler's life e.g. the arrival of a new baby or starting nursery.

Give plenty of praise every time your toddler uses the potty or toilet.

Choose a potty with your child.

Dress your child in trousers or leggings that can be pulled down easily, preferably with elasticated waists.

It is possible to skip the potty stage and use the toilet from the start.

Trainer pants (disposable nappies that look and feel like pants) are ideal for trips away from home, but may confuse your child as they are so like nappies your child may forget the need to use the potty.

Try to make sure using the potty is an enjoyable experience, try not to let it become associated with telling your child off.

Do not get cross! Try to always remain calm, even if your toddler has made a mess. If accidents happen, remain sympathetic, your child will pick up on anxiety or frustration. It is so easy for a toddler to forget about the potty and the toilet. If accidents are making you irritable, leave training for a week or two and go back to nappies.

Teach boys to use the potty sitting down at first. They can progress to standing up later

You may wish to buy a potty training book, video, or chart, which deal with the issues in more detail.

You can devise your own scheme to encourage your child with stickers or stars

You could try giving your child other small rewards such as a piece of fruit, if you think it would encourage the process.

Buying a Marquee ?

So your looking to buy a Marquee ? There are hundreds available on ebay, how do you know which marquees are good and which are not very good ?

Here are a few pointers :

(1) There are typically 3 types of cover material available on marquees, they are PE ( polyethelyne ), Polyester and Vinyl. The most expensive material is the Vinyl and this is typically used on commercial marquees due to its very heavy weight, weather resistance and long term durability. Its unlikely that you would buy a domestic use marquee made fromVinyl. PE is the cheapest type of cover material and the majority of ebay sold marquees are made using this material. PE is made by laminating thin strips of polyethelyne material together in a woven lattice and then this woven fabric is laminatedon both sides with a liquid coating of polyethelyne. Whilst completely waterproof, this is an extremely cheap looking material which is commonly used on tarpaulins.During windy conditions, PE rustles very loudlyandonce a tear has established, thematerial will quickly shred to bits. Polyester marquees arecheaper than Vinyl, but more expensive than PE. Polyester looks soft and it feels like a normal fabric. Its soft appearance is quite deceiving because it is incredubly strong and durable. The best polyester marquees have a PVC coating on the inside that makes the fabric completely waterproof and makes it hang nicely on the marquee.

(2)Always buy a marquee with tubes of diameter at least 38mm. Anything less than 38mm and the tubes will bend and break in windy conditions. Not only check the diameter of the tubes, but also the thickness of thesteel used in the tube. Decent marquees are made from at least 1mm steel. Its quite common for discount marquees to be made from 0.6 to 0.8mm steel.Check carefully when reading the specification of the marquee on the ebay listing. If there is not detailed spec, beware !!

(3) The best marquees come with steel fabricated corner joints. The cheaper marquees use plastic joints which snapduring the marquees first use. Unless you want to beconstantly buying replacement joints, always buy a marquee with metal joints.

(4)Unless you dont mindthe wind blowing through the cornersof your marquee, check thatthe cover is fitted with velcro connections along the entire length of the leg panels and side panels. This will prevent any ingress of rain and wind and make the difference between sitting in a very warm and cosy marquee and sitting in a cold shed !

(5) Some sellers provide freeprivacy curtains with their marquees. These will be perfect if you wish to hide a less than beautiful corner of your gardenor want to provide complete privacy in your marquee. Check if the seller is offering this for free. Most dont come withprivacy curtains.

(6) Make sure your seller is a professional manufacturer and not "Fred in his Shed". There are plenty of traders that sell marquees but once you have bought the product wont provide any customer support later down the line.Professional sellers always hold stock of spare parts which will be sent out to customers without delay if there is ever the need. A marquee with a broken part is basically scrap so ensure your seller will provide the necessary back up later on if required.

We hope this brief guide is of use. We will always be delighted to offer advice on marquees if you ever have any questions.

Some simple pointers to buying bullion safely on eBay.

From time to time, I talk to people who have spent good money on what they believed to be bullion, only to find out later that they have paid out in error.I've seen an increase in people making contact, so I thought that I'd offer some guidance to prospective buyers of bullion, (although it can apply in most cases, to buying anything on eBay). How can you protect yourself on eBay? A few simple steps usually work.1) Buy yourself a comprehensive testing kit. For gold, it's not enough to buy acid that says "yes or no"; Go for a full kit, either acid or electronic, that will at least differentiate between 9 carat, 18 carat and 22 carat. Then, there will be less chance of falling for 9 carat gold sold as 22 carat gold scam. Learn how to test plated metal as well.2) Buy yourself an electronic weighing scale that measures to TWO decimal places. Check that the item that you have bought weighs exactly (or very closely to) what it should.3) Don't make a buying decision based on fuzzy photos (made by cameras where the flash or focus "doesn't work properly" or the seller "doesn't know how to use the camera properly", but has excellent photos in every other listing!). If the listing has no photo, ask for one. A genuine seller should be able to respond very quickly. Always get photos of both front and rear of coins.4) Google the eBay ID of the seller or, if it's a business seller, Google the phone number or business details. You may be astounded by how much information this small action can throw up on a seller, especially if they have past "form".5) Check guides and forums. You may be amazed at how much of the resulting information you will find by "Googling the ID" is actually on eBay itself, usually in guides or forums. If you're trying to be serious about protecting yourself, look for eBay guides generically related to the item you're buying - you may find information that is not obvious elsewhere.6) Keep to eBay and pay by PayPal. Although some people may think that eBay advise you not to do private deals off eBay for their own revenue protection, all buyers should see the sense in keeping to the eBay deal and paying by PayPal. By doing so, all buyers will receive buyer protection, (but see my other guide). In any case, eBay fees are only incurred by sellers, so buyers have really nothing at all to gain by making a "cash" offer, only the risk of ending up with nothing.7) Research the item that you're looking to buy. What does it normally sell for? Does it really exist? (I'm inclined to think of a 1910 Victorian Sovereign that I recently saw on eBay - apparently minted 9 years after the death of Queen Victoria!). Check completed eBay listings for prices recently realised. If the item you are bidding on goes significantly higher, consider the reasons for this. Legitimate reasons include a certain rarity for that particular item; illegitimate ones may include shill bidding and price ramping, much easier now that eBay hide bidders' identities.8) Check seller feedback and performance ratings. Not wholly trustworthy, but they'll give you an idea of reputation. Has the seller just joined eBay or have they been around for years?9) Set your price limit and stick to it. If the item evades you this time, wait for another one to come around again.10) Ask other eBayers for advice. Most eBayers won't mind giving you an opinion as long as you don't pester them for years on end - after all, as time goes by, you should become more of an expert yourself and be able to assist other eBay buyers! These are not the sole points to be taken into account when buying, but keeping to them should help you buy bullion more safely.Enjoy eBay, but.....buy wisely, buy safely!

panasonic DMC TZ3

Just to let people know that some of the panasonic DMC TZ3's for sale are actually refurbished so remember to read the small print in the auction, many of theses "new" cameras only comes with 3 months warranty, maybe your not getting as good a bargain as you thought!!

Leaving Negative feedback/recieving Revenge feedback!

***I should add here that I HAVE decided to mutually withdraw feedback, mainly as the eBay account is in my wife's name and it is unfair to sully her score. This is an important message though, and I will be keeping an eye on all sellers involved. Do not hesitate to let me know if you are "revenged" by anyone.***

In a trust based community such as eBay, we lke to think that we are free to express our experiences freely, as a means to helping others, and improving the overall shopping experience. Recently, however, I have become aware that there are grey areas which threaten to ruin the positive experience for all of us.

On the rise is the practice of "revenge feedback", where model buyers lose their good feedback scores, due to spitefully motivated retorts from disgruntled sellers who want us to "leave out the truth" about our poor experiences with them. These comments are generally insulting and warn future eBayers to avoid trading with us.

Although eBay claims that such revenge tactics are usually visible to others, and therefore do not need to be removed, it can cause distress and worry to buyers to be lambasted in this way. Currently, eBay's policy of feedback as fair exchange fails to protect us from these culprits.

Consider the scenario:

You return an item to a high street store, you are dissatisfied with a product and /or service. What do you generally get? A full refund or exchange, usually an apology and often a complimentary item to appease the customer, and ensure future custom. This is good business practice.

How would you feel if the cashier openly argued with you in a public audience? Whatif the employee insulted you, suggesting some impairment or undesirable mental trait?

Hopefully, you would flip out! Hopefully, management would have no option but to dismiss said person for breaching Customer Service rights?

On eBay however, this behaviour is currently accepted. This was made obvious to myself recently when I had a negative experience with a seller who failed to deliver (they claimed lost item, as they often do in their feedback). Yes I was refunded, but after over a month of hassle, and ignored calls/e-mails, and PayPal disputes. For my own road safety, I was forced to buy over 100 of items from another seller, before I had been reassured that I would have the initial issue resolved. An expensive risk, I'm sure you'll agree.

Do you think I would be out of order leaving negative feedback for this company? Is it fair I should be able to say that I'd gone through the mill with them? Well the company in question seem to think otherwise... See My Feedback.

I have never been insulted in this way before without challenge, and if an employee of a company called me a "crackpot" there would be serious trouble. As it is, I cannot remove these comments, even though they contain falsehoods. The sellerclaimed they offered me an alternative, which is untrue. So, here goes, not only are they insulting customers (good customers - immediate payment, and (initial) patient attempts to contact and resolve, until it became obvious that due tothe sellerignoring my e-mails, I would have to open a Paypal dispute) but they are providing false claims to mislead other eBayers into thinking their service is 100% satisfactory.

How do you feel about this? They are not the only company, but they are prolific at this, note the sheer number of "mutually withdrawn" ratings. I was offered a mutual withdrawal by e-mail, (posted same day as my feedback-instant reply, where was this service when I needed it?)where they said they would remove their neg feedback if I would remove mine, thus reinstating my 100% positive rating (for nothing but honesty, I have been relegated to 95.2%).

Tempting isn't it?

Stinks of blackmail though doesn't it?

Maybe the message is starting to sink in, I also have a specific guide posted about the seller(at myprofile page) which has resulted in many e-mails, messages with other customers sharing experiences aboutthis sellerand others, and the most recent neg feedback attheir pageseems not to have been "revenged" (RESULT!)

So maybe we can make a difference. Please vote for this guide, to ensure others see it.

We must return to fairness for all.

Thank You

SIDOZEY and eBay !!!

I am one of the victims of SIDOZEY's eBay Scam after buying two jackets. Here lies the problem. If everyone went and reported it to the police then there would be no individual investigations. You need to put the pressure on eBay fraud dep't so they can bulk report it ( File a dispute ) With their liaison and clout then the Police would probably launch an investigation. I believe that eBay should accept the blame and compensate all those who have been scammed. Let's see how good their customer relations really are !!!!

I ended up sending postal orders ( what was I thinking !! ) to 26A York Street, London made out to a Peter DAWOOD.

eBay have alowed this seller to remain knowing that there was already a scam used in 2007. Are they to blame ? Yes I think so. Is it our fault for buying what we believed to be as legitimate bargain on their website ? No after all it is eBay and that's what it is all about.

I have also received over 3000 e-mails from eBay telling me not to trust SIDOZEY. They are still being sent at about 1 every 5 seconds. Thanks eBay !! How about you give me my 125 back ?

fake or genuine ghds!!!!

hi there.i'm one off the many hundreds that bought "genuine"ghds on ebay way before xmas.I got two pairs from two different reputable sellers, one for my daughter and the other for my niece!sadlymy daughters ones stopped working a week after xmas, and i sent them to ghd to be fixed-or so i thought!!!

They were sent back to me in an awful state. The box was ripped ,the clear plastic that covered straightners was missing and to top it all Fake was written all over the box!I even wondered if they were the same ones i sent as i hadn't took note of thecode. There was no reason given for them "supposidly"being fake. And i must say the jurys still out on that one.

The seller washappy to refund me,but instead i contacted trading standards, who were very interested indeed! They came to my home, examined themand took copies of all corespondance between myselftheseller and ebay, then took them away.Theyare waitng on ghd responding!

The strangest thing for me about all this is thatthe other seller buys her ghds from ghd themselvesat auction inLondon! She hasconfronted both ebay and ghd about this but neither will respond!Thatsnot right. My friend has the same pair, they are exact in every way.The difference being that she got hersfrom a locol salon.the same salon that couln't tell the difference either, and who are very angry that ghd have not let them know there are fakes going about!!

So at this stage of my rant i'm left wondering why ghd sent my straightners back if they are such obviously amazing fakes? Why would they notkeep them as evidence for investigating these fraudsters? And whyis ebay not their first port of call to catchthe counterfiets?Or what about this idea-Why do the folk that make thes "fakes"not make their own? They obviously are very good at it!!

Anyway, if anyone has got any infoto shed a light on this, please respond!Meanwhile my daughters left without her xmas prezzie andi'm left fighting for a refund from paypal(thats if they ever bother to respond)-some buyer protection thats turned out to be!!!!!

SIDOZEY... Ebay are to blame... MC139 NOTICE

Why did Ebay allow this account to continue to sell when there is a history of scamming on this account from last year?

Phone Ebay on 020 8080 2105 to voice your disgust.

Anybody else get this tracking number from SIDOZEY dv 0089 5584 8gb?

... and to compound matters Ebay are now sending me emails at the rate of 1 per second to notify me SIDOZEY may be a fraud. I have had to block ebay emails at my provider end. Since last night I have received 2000 emails from ebay. MC139 NOTICE

JSM Sewing Machine WHAT A RIP OFF

I bought a sewing machine in good faith from JSM last year 2007 at first I was very happy with it but within a few weeks the machine jamed and seemed to stop working. I read the terms of the contract and returned the machine well within the time for a refund, but JSM do not give refunds as the price of the free gifts cover the cost of the machine, or do they? Some of the gifts should be part of the machine anyway as these are tools that you would expect for the machine so therefore are part of the machine, but not according to Joys. Then there is the sewing machine bag valued at 25 or so say, but by shopping round you can get one far less than that price so is it value for money.

I can only give a warning don't buy from JSM, a fool and her money are easly parted, I returned my machine to JSM and was told with in a week that there was nothing wrong with it, I asked for a test and repair sheet so that I could see what had been tested and what had been repaired. The reply that I received was that machines that were not paid for would be sold on, (Therefore one can only say that this company are selling machines that have been out before), I asked again and contacted Traiding Standards who contacted JSM and JSM said that they would return the machine free of charge, but I never saw either my machine or the money ever again. Its now a year since this happened to me and I have not had any further contact from JOYS SEWING MACHINES I can only assume that once the machine was returned the machine was sold on at my expence.

My advice to you before buying ISif the offer seems too good to be true then it is too good to be true, Joys Sewing Machines have never been true to me. And so I am left with parts ofa machine that are no good on any other machine and a load of cheap cotton that breaks when used on any other sewing machine.

To be truthfull don't throw good money at bad products, if you want to buy a quality machine do a Google search first as there are many company's that sell quality machines and who will give sound advice before buying. It is also recomended that you buy a leading make, non of the leading makes have ever heard of JOYS. UNTIL I BOUGHT MY MACHINE FROM JOYS I DIDNT EITHER. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY THAT WAS

Ford Mondeo Mk3 Estate TDCI 130 BHP 2002

Iboughtmy vehicle 18 months ago and whilst the initial feel of the vehichle is good this feeling soon wears off as the problems occur and occur they will. Every time a fault presents itself I research it and find that it is yet another COMMON problem. This vehicle seems to have a wealth of common problems. My biggest problem to date is with the Dual Mass Flywheel. The first symptom is a starter motor that fails to engage on an intermittent basis, this develops until the starter fails completely, it is easy to think that the problemlies with the starter but the real culprit will be the the Flywheel. The solution is replacement of theflywheel, clutch, starter motor and lower slave cylinder. This jobcould cost over 1000 although this problem is now so common that the price is getting less. I have now had two flywheel replacementsseperated by less than 25000 miles. Even top garages are reluctant to guaratee this repair for over 40,000 miles. The second COMMON problem is with the fuel injection system I have had a fuel injector replaced by a Ford main dealer who refused to guarantee their own genuine part or their workmanship, it seems that the injector problem is only a symptom of a more seriuos injector pump problem, I am still waiting for this very expensive problem to occur, a third common problem is excesive noise due to wear in the serpentine belt pulleys and tensioner. I am now having problems with my tailgate which has a electric locking system which intermittently fails to operate which is most annoying. As a general conclusion I would personnally recommend that any prospective buyer of this vehicle stay well clear. It is my opinion that this vehicle is very poorly engineered, ergonomically poorly designed and the interior appointments are flimsy and not fit for purpose. I cannot recommend this vehicle.

Since writing this report I now feel it necessary to add a further additions, which include failure of the starter on three further occassions along with failure of the air conditioning, radio, turbo unit and an intermittent starting problem due to the key chip not being recognised by the cars computer system. This car really is a disaster and will be disposed of in the near future terminally never to be replaced by anything similar from the Ford range.

Hi again, now this vehichle has developed the following problem, the car runs fine then stops for no apparent reason after leaving the vehicle for a period of time it starts and runs fine then again does the same this unreliability makes the car useless. I again go to the internet and find that this is yet another common fault for which solutions are ambiguous at best. I promise not to bother you all again, this is the worst car I have ever had and an absolute disgrace to Ford engineers. I would never buy any Ford vehicle again after this experience.

My final word I scrapped this vehicle on the 24/11/09 it was a money pit from day one and I decided to cut my ever mounting losses. I could not pass this vehicle on as I would have felt guilty. So I simply said goodbye and good ridance.

Granite or Quartz Worktops

Hi, i hope in this short guide, to explain the difference between Granite and Quartz worktops, and Granite and Quartz Suppliers.

Firstly, whether you choose Granite or Quartz worktops, you should consider your supplier very carefully. Everybody wants quality, but above all value. There is a large gulf between value and cheap. Value is a quality product at a reasonable price. Cheap is Cheap, invariably sub standard, seconds or market quality. Just because a supplier says its first quality, it is not necesarily so. Please please please get a sample or view the product first. At Granite Care we unfortunately have to replace so many sub standard jobs installed by "other suppliers". Remember its not cheap if you have to pay twice. Ask if your supplier cuts from "sheets" ie large raw slabs of granite andQuartz,or cuts from "blanks" ie pre processed strips available cheaply, often inferior material, or seconds.

If a supplier can offer Quartz worktops, as well as Granite worktops, this is a good indication that they have their own production facility. At this time Quartz is not available in the pre - cut "blanks", but only in "sheets", and is available in widths upto 1400mm wide!

Granite is a natural rock formed deep in the earth over millions of years, it is a beautifull and natural material, but being natural, it has little quirks which you should be prepared for. It can have patches of vein / pattern, or patches where no vein / pattern exists. It can have inherrent flaws or weakness, called shakes and fissures. It can also have colour variations, and shading differences.

Quartz is a man made alternative to Granite. It is a composite material made almost 95% from granite, selcted and colour graded, ground to fine dust and chippings, mixed with a resin, and cast into sheets. Quartz is inherently stronger than natural granite, being more flexible. It is available in long 3000mm sheets, and in more than 40 colours. There are several quartz "makes" available, but you should choose a quality make. At Granite Care we have a strong partnership with "Quarella Pianoforte and Compac Quartz" These manufacturers have a long proven track record of quality and reliability, and are among the biggest Quartz manufacturers in the world. Quartz is avaialable in bothsolid coloursand "mirrored" versions called "Luciente, or Sparkly". This is basically ground and chipped mirror added to the mixture, giving a highly reflective Silver coloured sparkle. This performs exceptionally well even in low light situations, and gives a "3d" effect. Quartz is more scratch resistant, stain resistant, and wear resistant than natural Granite, and is available in a wide choice of colours.

Ok. So firstly you choose a supplier, now you want to choose a material. You will be bombarded with choices. Firstly narrow down to what colour you want.6 years ago black granite was realistically the only choice. It is still very very popular, and has become a premium granite ie slightly more expensive than other colours. Then along came the stunning "Star Galaxy". Star Galaxy is a premium black natural granite with a copper / gold coloured fleck. This is a natural effect of water and rust in the rock which has stained the reflective particlesa Coppery colour. Star Galaxy remains very popular, although in increasingly short supply forgood qualitymaterial. Remember there are more choices than black, and be adventurous. Granite Care display 14 granite colours on our ebay site, but actually stock over 30 granite colours, and 100 Quartz colours. Ask the question "what other colour choices do i have?" A good supplier should have many choices available for viewing.

One year ago, we supplied 90% of our customers with Granite Worktops, and 10% chose Quartz. Now the split is 70% Quartz / 30% Granite, with more and more customers choosing Quartz. Our Stunning Wigan showroom now shows 16 new fully fitted Quartz displays, as well as the 14 fully fitted Granite displays. At our Haydock Showroom we show a further 30 displays, which will rise to 90 displays over the coming year.

See our ebay shop for various deals in both Quartz and Natural granite at www.stores.ebay.co.uk/granitecare

How To Buy A Driver/Fairway Wood

Woods are mainly used for longer shots in golf. Drivers are most often used off the tee, although more advanced players may choose to use a driver off the fairway when extra distance is required. A fairway or metal wood can also be used off the tee if the hole is narrow and requires a little more of a precision shot, or if the hole is shorter and you don't need all the distance that a driver may provide. Fairway and metal woods also are used for a wide variety of "utility" shots, including tight lies in the rough, or in fairway bunkers where you need more distance to get to the green, but need enough loft to get the ball in the air quickly. There are 3 main aspects to finding the right Driver/Fairway for yourself : Ability Level, Shaft and LoftDetermining your ability level o The low-handicap golfer o The mid-handicap golfer o The high-handicap golferThe low-handicap golferA low-handicap player has a single-digit handicap, meaning he or she generally scores less than 10 strokes over par, or an 82 or less on a par-72 course. * Woods o The low handicap player should carry a driver and at least 1 fairway wood, most likely the 3-wood * Irons o The low handicap player will benefit from lower irons in his bag, because the 3- or 4-iron is a difficult club to hit but can be very useful if it can be controlled * Wedges o A minimum of 3 wedges--pitching wedge, sand wedge, and either a lob wedge or approach wedge--in their bags, with a maximum 4-degree difference between each oneThe mid-handicap golferThe mid-handicap golfer plays "bogey golf," meaning his or her score averages out to 1 over par on each hole, or somewhere in the 11-20 handicap range. * Woods o In addition to the driver and a 3-wood and a 5-wood, consider adding a 7-wood or even a 9-wood. These fairway woods give much better control and consistency than the harder to hit long irons. * Irons o Usually only a 3 through 9 are recommended, since the 2- iron is very difficult to hit consistently * Wedges o Three different wedges are recommended - pitching wedge, sand wedge, and either a lob wedge or approach wedgeThe high-handicap golferThe high-handicap golfer is either a beginner or has not had the time to hone his game to reach the mid-handicap level. The high-handicapper usually shoots close to or over 100. Woods o You may not even want to have a driver in your bag. Instead, go with the 3-wood as your off-the-tee wood and add the easier-to-hit 7- and 9-woods. Wedges o Up to 3 wedges-- pitching wedge, sand wedge, and either a lob wedge or approach wedge--should be carried

Sheesham Wood (More info on Sheesham Wood, Indian Wood)

Sheesham (Dalbergia sissoo), is an erect deciduous tree, native to India, Pakistan and Nepal. It is also called Sissoo, Sisu and Indian Rosewood. It is primarily found growing along river banks below 900m elevation, but can range naturally up to 1,300m. The temperature in its native range averages 10 40C, but varies from just below freezing to nearly 50C. It can withstand average annual rainfall up to 2,000mm and droughts of 3 4 months. Soils range from pure sand and gravel to rich of river banks; Sheesham can grow in slightly saline soils. Seedlings are intolerant of shade. Sheesham is best known internationally as a premier timber species of the rosewood genus, but is also utilised as an important fuel wood and for shade and shelter. With its multiple products, tolerance of light frosts and long dry seasons, this species deserves greater consideration for tree farming, reforestation and agro forestry applications. After Teak it is the most important cultivated timber tree in Haryana and the rest of India, planted on roadsides and as a shade tree for tea plantations. TIMBERSheesham is among the finest cabinet and veneer timbers. The heartwood is golden to dark brown, and sapwood white to pale brownish white. The heartwood is extremely durable (the gravity is 0.7 0.8) and is very resistant to dry-wood termites; It is used for plywood, agricultural and musical instruments, as well as skis, carvings, boats, floorings, etc.

Buying a Dance/Fitness pole - Reviews and Guides

There is a dizzying array of poles now on the market, and very little to guide the user in the direction of the appropriate pole for their needs. So we decided to write a pole review, and guide to buying poles. A number of the most popular poles on the market have been reviewed, and we will be adding more as time goes on.

Pole dance/fitness is a relatively new exercise phenomenon, but one that it is fast taking hold and sweeping the globe. Pole parties and classes are now available all over the world, and an increasing number of men and women are taking up this rewarding and challenging form of exercise. More and more men and women are buying their own poles for home use to continue the work they have learned in classes, or just for the fun of having their own pole.

The reviews below are not my personal opinions, they have been written by men and women who pole dance for fun and fitness, and have first hand experience of these poles. We hope you find them helpful. Poles are listed in alphabetical order.

My thanks to the members of the Vertical Dance Pole Fitness forums for their reviews and comments.

Alistage Polestar

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Removable

One/Two Piece: One piece pole

Finish and Grip: Stainless steel - good grip, 51mm can sometimes cause a problem with small hands.

Ease of installation: Very easy, however because of the small plate at the top, the screw in the top can sometimes come through the plate and cause a hole in the ceiling (what happened to mine anyway)

Static/Spinning: Static pole however you can get them spinny.

Alistage Polestar Plus

Suitability: beginners to advanced. It will take my weight quite comfortably (200 pounds), even when learning moves like the cross knee release, where the centre of gravity is way off centre for longer than perhaps it should be

Fixed/Removable: Removable

One/Two Piece: One piece, with 16" long adjustable extension at the top.

Finish and Grip: Ground finish stainless steel. Grip is good, but might be better if it were polished. 51mm diameter.

Ease of Installation: Piece of cake. Comes with detailed instructions. Height adjustment needs a bit of trial and error, and it's easier with an assistant.

Static/Spinning: Static.

Comments: In use, this is the same as the standard Polestar reviewed above, the only difference being that it has a greater range of height adjustment, so good if you are going to different venues (you'd need a van though, due to it being one-piece) and installation is slightly more complicated.

Aradia Standard (1 1/2 inch) and Classic (2 inch)

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: removable

One/Two Piece: one piece

Finish and Grip: Brass. VERY grippy...but very susceptible to humidity/heat conditions

Ease of Installation: quite easy

Static/Spinning: static

Comments: I believe they are between $300 and $500 CAD.

Lil Minx Coloured Poles

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Fixed/semi removable

One/Two Piece: one piece

Finish and Grip: powder coated steel which makes it very grippy for inverting, climbing and posing on the pole but spins can be difficult. It can also leave really bad pole burn based on the material

Ease of Installation: easy, but you will probably need some help as it is one piece and you have to find the stud and drill into it

Static/Spinning: static

Comments: The poles range in colour and start at about $270 USD and go up to around $500 USD and custom poles are available.

Lil Minx Stainless Steel Poles

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Fixed/semi removable

One/Two Piece: one piece

Finish and Grip: polished stainless steel finish which makes it great for spins and inverts but can be difficult for some advanced static poses especially if your hands are sweaty. Regular use should roughen up the surface and improve grip over time.

Ease of Installation: easy, but you will need a stud finder, a drill, and a ladder to install the ceiling mounting fixture. An additional person to help is also beneficial.

Static/Spinning: Pole can be purchased in static only or a static/spinning version.

Comments: The poles start at about $270 USD for the non-spinning version and go up to around $350 USD for the static/spinning version.

Peek a boo

Suitability: Adult novelty only.

Fixed/Removable: friction mounted-removable

One/Two Piece: Three pieces

Finish and Grip: Chrome plated

Ease of Installation: easy

Static/Spinning: static

Comments: This pole is a novelty and should be treated as such, it does not appear to be designed to take much lateral force therefore should be used for only walking around. This pole is not suitable for moves such as spinning, climbing, or inverting. It should not be bought for any use other than erotic play.

Platinum Stages One Piece "Super Pole" (with ceiling adapter)

Suitability: beginners to advanced. This pole is sturdy and will support your weight for any tricks or inverts. It can be used on a flat ceiling or you may buy an adapter for a vaulted ceiling.

Fixed/Removable: Removable

One/Two Piece: One Piece

Finish and Grip: Stainless Steel

Ease of Installation: Scale of 1(easy)-10 (hard), 4. We have a vaulted ceiling so some initial drilling was involved. Day to day installation, 1

Static/Spinning: Both, has pin

Comments: The cover at the bottom can be awkward. No big deal because you can just slide the cover off but that leaves it looking a little "less pretty". The ball joints have creaked ever since I received it. Grease may help this but I think that may make more mess than it is actually worth.

Platinum Stages Multi-piece Super Pole

Suitability: beginner to advanced

Fixed/Removable: removable, friction mounted

One/Two Piece: Three pieces

Finish and Grip: stainless steel

Ease of Installation: easy

Static/Spinning: both

Comments: This pole is suitable for all applications, can be permanently mounted by purchasing additional mounts. Easy to put, more challenging to take down, strap wrenches are an order. Very easy to switch from spinny to static.

X Pole 45mm chrome

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Removable and portable

One/Two Piece: Several piece pole, but very sturdy.

Finish and Grip: Finish is chrome, and due to the 45mm diameter, suitable for small hands and increased grip.

Ease of installation: Very easy as long as you find the beam and have a ladder!

Static/Spinning: Static and spinning, very easy to switch between both!

Comments: Height is adjustable, and further adjustment can be made by buying extension pieces.

X Pole 50mm Chrome

Suitability: beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Removable and Portable

One/Two Piece: Multi-pieces depending on ceiling height plus the dome and base.

Finish and Grip: Chrome. This finish can be a little trying for people who suffer from sweaty hands. It is really slippy when you start but the grip improves a lot when the pole gets heated. Very easy to clean and maintain.

Ease of Installation: Fairly easy depending on ceiling height, much easier when you have a partner help you.

Static/spinning: both, and very easy to switch from one to the other

Comments: Pro's: Can be taken down and easily stored and transported, offers both spinny and static, does not require drilling into ceiling or floor, SUPER sturdy! Adjustable height.

Cons: Cannot be used on vaulted ceilings, can be a bit slippery at times if you have sweaty hands. In the U.S. this pole goes for around $279.00 plus shipping and handling (UK approx 160)

X Pole 50mm Titanium

Suitability: Beginners to advanced

Fixed/Removable: Removable and Portable

One/Two Piece: Multi-pieces depending on ceiling height plus the dome and base.

Finish and Grip: Titanium. Very grippy surface, great for poses and inverted tricks that require good grip. Can be difficult to do some spins but with enough momentum they can be done. Easy to clean and maintain.

Ease of Installation: Fairly easy depending on ceiling height, much easier when you have a partner help you.

Static/spinning: both, and very easy to switch from one to the other

Comments: Pro's: Can be taken down and easily stored and transported, offers both spinny and static, great grip, does not require drilling into ceiling or floor, SUPER sturdy! Adjustable height.

Con's: Cannot be used on vaulted ceilings, can have too much grip sometimes. In the U.S. this pole goes for $315.00 plus s

EBAY IS NOT A SAFE PLACE - BEWARE OF francesca112008

Here is the reason why I decided to write this particular guide I won`t let people like francesca112008 to threaten me and my family just because ebay allows aggresive and rude behaviour and they don`t do NOTHING to try protect innocent people from nasty scammers like francesca112008

Okay so she has 100% positive feedback but it certainly doesn`t make her so innocent , it is obvious she might havedone the same thing to lots of other sellers not only to me but with new ebay policy " SELLERS CAN NO LONGER LEAVE NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK" it is clear there is no chance for sellers to speak their minds ! How unfair !

Ebay couldn`t care less about all this situation although I emailed them twice about her nasty threats all I received was automatic response saying " they will investigate" yeah right .. we will see..

Now you see why I wrote this guide THIS IS MY ONLY WAY TO WARN OTHER SELLERS BEWARE OF EBAY MEMBER francesca112008

Here is my story :

Francesca112008 won pair of jeans from me on 5th of July 2008 ( ebay item number 180260541826 so you can check that all this is authentic )

She paid for them 2.76+3.50 postage the same day so I though everything went fine..But I couldn`t be more wrong ..

Today (12.06) I received message from her and I couldn`t believe my eyes what I saw ...

Here is what she wrote :

Dear 2crazy*princess

Hi I can tell you are new to ebay the jeans I won from you are far from being in very good condition they are in my opinion cheap full of holes and smell .Now I would like a full refund or will claim money through paypaland will have no option but to leave negative feedback please ensure you let me know your decision before monday morning

Now I don`t know what is your opinion but I think it is clear blackmail !

She is clearly taking advantage of " sellers can no longer leave neutral or negative feedback bla, bla, bla" and she knows I`m already in lost position

Now if I let her to threaten me for no reason when 100% sure I haven`t done anything wrong I would be mad !

Okay I will get negative feedback and she will claim money from paypal ( paypal are uselles anyway and they will give away her my money without my permission that is obvious ) so what choice do I have in this situation ??

Jeans have been HONESTLY worn twice and I bought them new 7 months ago so surely they have been in very good condition as described with no holes (?!!) and certainly they do not smell I do wash myself and my clothes everyday and I have never heard about anything more ridiciolous than this in my ENTIRE LIFE

She must be really desperate to lie like this com`on girl get real and next time try to be MORE POLITE to the people you are dealing with and you might actually achieve something

For all I included original picture of the jeans which have been in my listing and please judge yourself

Please all of you if you ever experienced similar blackmails, threats and rude emails please do not be affraid to take the appopriate measurements

Firstly contact ebay even though they are uselles in more situations , block this buyer from future transactions with you , contact police if the things will turn more nasty

There is no reason why this bullies should be allowed this behaviour and get our hard earned money for no reason PROTECT YOURSELF AND REMEMBER YOU MIGHT BE NEXT ..

A WARNING WHEN BUYING 1960s SINDY DOLLS!

Hi,

I would like to warn others about a horrid little bit of trickery from certain dubious eBayers who are selling vintage Sindy dolls with the plug heads -the 1960s ones. Very often, these neck connecting part becomes split which is often why the head is then wobbly - but sometimes the head can be wobbly without damage (such are old dolls it seems!). BUT, I paid a great deal a while ago for a 1960s Sindy and discovered some unscrupulous devil had whittled a branch down to size to fit into the damaged neck part of the Sindy to attach her head to her neck! Of course, ordinarily you would never see this, unless like me you like to VERY CAREFULLY remove the head (to reroot for example). Not recommended by the way unless you are prepared to risk damaging the very fragile neck joints of these older dolls.

Naturally, whith a piece of organic woodland matter shoved into the neck aperture, this dolls actual value is greatly reduced.

What can be done? ASK QUESTIONS! Ask the seller where they obtained the doll, was it theirs, do they know it is modified or damaged in any way? Its a tricky one to spot.... but just to let everyone know - IT IS THERE, IT DOES EXIST AND THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE DOING THIS TO OUR BELOVED SINDY DOLLS!!!!!

EASY BLIND MEASURING GUIDE

Follow our simple measuring guides for all types of blinds, curtains and curtain poles.

BLIND MEASURING GUIDEBefore you start:There are 2 ways of fitting your blind: inside or outside the window recess.

You will need:Pen or pencilPaperMetal tape measure (cloth or plastic tape measures can stretch)We recommend you use centimetres.

FITTING OUTSIDE THE RECESS:1. measure the width of the area that you want your blind to cover in centimetres- We recommend you have a 5cm overlap either side (whenever possible)2. measure the drop of the area that you want your blind to cover in centimetresWe recommend the blind is fitted 5cm above the window. You now have your width x drop size for your blind.

FITTING INSIDE THE RECESS:1. measure the width inside the recess wall to wall in 3 places, make a note of the smallest measurement2. measure the drop inside the recess lentil to sill, make a note of the smallest measurementYou now have your width x drop size for your blind.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONSWidth measurements are always quoted followed by drop measurementsEg: 120cm x 160cm is 120cm wide x 160cm drop

You may need to round up to the nearest standard blind size as you can trim most blinds down to exact size. (eg if your measurement is 117cm you would need to round up to a 120cm wide blind)

Roller blind width measurements include the fittings which are at either end. The material on a roller blind is always slightly narrower than the width measurement stated (approximately 1.5cm either side).

Blinds can be lowered to the required length once fitted, therefore the drop size must be a minimum of the drop measurement, but can be longer.

If your window recess less than 7cm deep you may not be able to fit inside the recess

If your window opens inward you may not be able to fit inside the recess as the top of the blind may restrict your window opening

The head rail on Venetian and roman blinds is exact, you do not have to allow for fittings.

I personal believe you would be hard pressed to top this 12th edition of Luckey's Hummel Figurines

I am so happy that I purchased this reference guide as I am increasing my collection of Hummel Figurines. I had not purchased in in about 20 years and I did not have any idea what would be a price range. Everytime I purchase a figurine on ebay (and that has become frequently) I make reference to this guide as to the trade mark, the value, etc., before I make my purchase. I hope that a very current edition will be purblished soon and I hope by this same author. He does an excellent job. Thanks!!!

Fantastic Hummel Collector's Guide

Before I purchased this book, I thought I knew a bit about Hummels since I had been around them my entire life. Boy, was I wrong! When I inherited my mother's meager and battered pieces, I became interested in knowing more about each piece. After checking out numerous other Hummel books, I decided Luckey's Hummel Figurines & Places by Carl F. Luckey (2003) was the best for me. First, it is a revision (the 12th) of a previous Hummel book, so I knew it would likely have the most complete, current information. It has a chapter on the history of Hummel, chapterswith information on collecting Hummels other items made by Goebel (not necessarily Hummels), and a separate chapter on rare and unusual items. It also has several different appendices and reference lists that are easy to use. Each Hummel has its own listing in this 560 page book that includes a bit of history about the particular piece, a black-and-white photograph (sometimes several) of most pieces (even the rare ones), and pricing/valuation information for each version of the figurine. But best of all, it has a wonderful color picture section showing numerous different figurines, ornaments, and other items. If you collect Hummels, you've got to get this book! I think it's the best for the money!

HUMMEL collectables 3 pictures and 2 music boxes

Here is a Hummel plaque that is dated 1969. It measures 10 1/2" long x 8 1/2" wide and has a hanger on the back for hanging. This picture shows a little child on snow skis. The next plaque is the little boy and girl with unmrella that is mounted on wood. it measures 13 1/4" long 10 1/2" wide. The next collectable Hummel is a tin that haw the little boy and girl shown on front. I also have 2 music boxes that will be included in this auction. One music box measures 4 1/4" long x 3 1/4" wid x 2 1/2" deep. It is marked "MADE IN JAPAN" on the bottom. The smaller music box measures 2 1/2" wide x 2" long x 1 1/2" deep. It is also made in Japan. Both music boxes work. The music boxes are not HUMMEL'S but were in the HUMMEL collection together.
